Who uses Grell Home Care services?
Typical residents who are eligible for services may be those returning from hospitalization or rehabilitation or those with a chronic disease or new symptom requiring evaluation and support. Some of the common reasons for our services are:
- medication management - deliver injections, implement medication changes, monitor side effects of new drugs, administer eye drops, etc.
- wound management and post surgical care
- cardiac assessment
- diabetes care
- preventative care for weakness, balance, ambulation, etc.
- evaluate changes in behavior, eating habits, activity level, etc.
- instruct for assistive devices such as walkers
- educate for chronic disease management
What we do
Grell Home Care partners with selected assisted living residences (see Locations) to provide skilled services in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to their residents. These services are typically ordered by the physician to provide evaluation, education, and delivery of skilled care. The home care communicates with the physician regularly in order that care can be appropriately managed in the home as long as possible. Grell Home Care is certified to accept most insurance plans, and services are usually reimbursable under Medicare or other insurance coverage.
How we work in an assisted living
Assisted Living residences provide a supportive environment for daily activities, transportation, meals, and housekeeping. However, they are not certified to provide skilled health services. Grell Home Care staff is available to provide skilled nursing and rehabilitative therapies as well as intensive support in one's private apartment. A Grell staff member is assigned to the assisted living residence and works closely with the Resident Service Director to identify and manage risk factors for selected residents. Because of their understanding of assisted living regulations and limitations, Grell staff members are able to provide continuity of care for the resident using both assisted living and Grell staffers.
