The Manuel R. Grell Home Care Agency is named for a kind and caring man who, with his wife Leona, performed countless hours of volunteerism, truly exemplifying the meaning of the phrase “service above self.”
The Manuel R.Grell Home Care Agency is a division of the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home Foundation, which has received numerous awards for excellence in caring for seniors since 1919. Its continuum of care includes Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, Cohen Florence Levine Estates Assisted Living, Florence & Chafetz Home for Specialized Care, and the Leonard Florence Center for Living, coming in 2008 - all located in Chelsea, Massachusetts, in Greater Boston.
Our Mission
We believe that seniors should live in the least restrictive, most homelike environment possible. By regulation, staff in assisted living facilities in Massachusetts is not allowed to perform skilled nursing or rehabilitative services. Therefore, by focusing our agency to serve assisted living residents, we work to prevent temporary disability that could cause a client to be physically moved from his or her residence. Our proactive, preventative, home care approach to health and comfort allows us to identify those at risk and work with the physician, residence staff and family to deliver skilled 24 hour continuity of specialized services in a timely, personal manner.
